Collection Maps
Introduction
In accordance with "Section 4: The Library Collection" in the Mississippi School Library Guide (2023), collection mapping is an analysis tool that illustrates the alignment of materials in the library with content specific curriculum standards. The purpose of collection mapping is to analyze the school library's collection through the lens of the curriculum standards to 1) align resources with the curriculum; 2) identify gaps and/or overlaps of information; and 3) select and/or deselect items for purchase and/or weeding.
