In MCJROTC, the rifle team focuses on developing marksmanship skills through competitive shooting with air rifles or small-caliber rifles. The Color Guard is a drill-based after-school activity that follows the guidelines of the Marine Corps Drill and Ceremonies Manual. There are four positions: left rifle, right rifle bearer, U.S.M.C. Flag, and U.S. Flag. We perform at Oxford High School football games, basketball games, OHS homecoming events, Ole Miss football and basketball games, and other requested events, and compete around the country in competitions. To be chosen to perform at an event, a cadet must show discipline, coordination, and bearing, and execute rifle/flag movements effectively. The times they meet after school are Tuesdays after school, from 1600 to 1700.
The Mcjrotc Raider Team is a physically demanding, competitive team focused on endurance, strength, and teamwork. Cadets participate in events like obstacle courses, rope bridges, ruck marches, and physical fitness challenges. The team emphasizes leadership, resilience, and camaraderie while preparing for raider competitions against other JROTC units. It's ideal for cadets who enjoy high-intensity training and pushing their limits. Raider team members meet after school in order to physically train in preparation for competitions.
